Manchester United's new goalkeeper Ramens: "To be a good goalkeeper, you must be the rock behind the defense"

Senne Lammens, the 23-year-old goalkeeper who joined Manchester United on the transfer deadline day this summer, quickly won attention from the outside world with his calmness and self-discipline.

Lamens began his career at Club Brugge before joining Antwerp. Last season, he made 44 appearances for the club, making 173 saves, the most of any goalkeeper in Europe's top ten leagues, and helping Antwerp secure European qualification.

With such performances, Ramens moved to Manchester United this summer and is regarded as a key figure in the future defense. Speaking about the responsibilities of a goalkeeper, Ramens said frankly: "If you want to be a good goalkeeper, you must be the rock behind the defense, and your teammates must be able to rely on you when things get tough."

"That's something I'm proud of. Of course, I can still improve because the Premier League is more challenging, but staying calm is always an important quality of mine."

"This calmness doesn't just come from my personality; it's something I've cultivated growing up. Sometimes, if I don't write things down, my mind gets really messy. By writing a diary, I can stay calm, focus on the present, and not overreact."

Ramens explained that these notes include possible pressure scenarios and how to deal with them during matches: "For example, if the opponent will use high pressure, then I will be mentally prepared. When the game really comes, there will be no surprises."

Ramens remains pragmatic about the future. He understands that Manchester United presents a greater challenge, but firmly believes that calmness and preparation will be the cornerstones of his success in the Premier League: "Even if you make mistakes, you must keep moving forward and do your best for the team."
